Know the campground rules and you'll all have more fun!
Barrington Outdoor Adventure Centre manages The Steps as an authentic camping experience. We see this area as a wilderness environment which must be shown due respect, so campers need to be aware of the remote location and take responsibility for their own camping environment.

Be aware:
- This campground is not staffed.
- There is no mobile phone coverage at the campground, the closest reliable coverage is at Barrington village.
- The closest medical facility is the Gloucester Hospital located on Church Street (also known as The Bucketts Way)
- You are responsible for you and your party’s safety at all times.
- Please read the information provided about the campground and familiarize yourself with the Rules, Regulations and Evacuation Plan.
- We reserve the right to remove any persons that do not adhere to the conditions that are set out below.
- We ask you to respect the conditions we have set out to make your stay enjoyable.
Rules (not negotiable):
- No open fires except in designated fire pits. Make sure you check out the full Campfire Policy.
- No camping in the riparian zone (within 50m from the river bank) as this is being rehabilitated. You may only camp in designated camping zones.
- No washing of dishes with or without detergents in the river (no food scraps to be rinsed off in the river).
- No washing of bodies / hair in the river using soaps / detergents.
- No motorbikes or loud machinery.
- No loud music or obnoxious behavior.
- No firearms, hunting or shooting
- No littering.
- No excessive alcohol or drugs.
- No domestic pets.
- Squatters policy – maximum stay is 14 days at any one time
