Q: How do I make a booking?
A: Bookings are per person and can be made online at https://thestepsbarrington.checkfront.com/reserve/
Q: Do I need to pre-book?

If you book on a campzone and do not book for the total carrying capacity of that given zone then that leaves spots available for other campers to book on that same zone.

Q: What is the dirt road (Manchester Rd) like in wet weather conditions?
A: Manchester road is still 2WD accessible during times of rain. As the road is dirt it will become slightly muddy in the rain and small pools of water may occur. Caution should be taken as whenever you drive in wet weather conditions as the road can become more slippery and steep slopes provide less tyre traction. In times of really heavy rain small streams of water may travel across the road, these are flash events only.
Q: What is the campground like in the rain /wet weather conditions?
A: Rain while camping is to as to be expected...wet tents, wet grass, ambient temperature drops and the bathrooms get a bit muddier/grassier.
Q: Is the river suitable for swimming? especially for young children.
The river is apart of the natural environment and therefore is very variable. During times of low rainfall and drought the river level drops and swimming holes decrease. On the flip side in periods of consistent high rainfall the river level increases and can become fast flowing, can flood and swimming can become unadvised. Although your well being and safety is of our concern, it is your responsibility and we (The Steps Barrington Campground) DO NOT own the river and are therefore NOT responsible for any actions, events or incidents that occur on the river. We advise that children should be supervised on the river at all times.
If you would like a current update on river conditions please call us (02) 6558 2093.
