COVID-19 Rules and Expectations
Know the campground rules and you'll all have more fun!
We are extremely grateful that the government are now allowing camping in NSW and that we can all now enjoy our beautiful natural surroundings.
With that privilege, comes the responsibility to ensure that we follow the guidelines and prevent the spread of COVID-19.
What we all need to do:
With that privilege, comes the responsibility to ensure that we follow the guidelines and prevent the spread of COVID-19.
What we all need to do:
- Maintain physical distancing – stay 1.5m away from anyone that is not a part of your household
- Practice good hand hygiene – wash your hands regularly for at least 20 seconds
- Practice good cough/sneeze etiquette - cover your nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing with a tissue or a flexed elbow
- Stay home – if you are experiencing any flu-like symptoms, stay home and do not come into contact with others
- You must check-in online – we are minimising the potential for people to congregate at the office by asking you to check-in online with our online check-in form. If there is anything that you would like to purchase from the office, just call us and we will arrange delivery to your campsite.
- All guests must be listed on your check-in form along with their contact phone number (we know this is extra work for our wonderful organisers and we appreciate all that you do for your family and friends).
- Any day visitors must book and check-in (numbers are limited).
- When at the campsite, keep to your group. It breaks our hearts to say it, but this is not the time to be making new friends! If you are meeting friends or extended family at the campground, physical distancing must be maintained – 1.5m at all times – and remember, no more than 20 people at a time.
- Children must be supervised at all times.
- Spread out on the campground – it may be tempting to camp right next to another group so you get a better view of the river but make sure you set up your camp so that there is plenty of space between groups and physical distancing is easily maintained.
- The 4 square metre rule applies at the amenities block. This means that there can be a maximum of 9 people inside the toilet block at any one time (4 on the male side, 4 on the female side and 1 in the accessible toilet). Wait until the building is cleared before entering. Remember to maintain physical distancing when you are waiting outside the building too.
- Hand hygiene – for everyone’s protection, we are asking you to clean your hands before entering the toilet block (at the wash up station) and again before leaving the toilet block.
- We will be cleaning and disinfecting the toilet block once per day and we will also leave cleaning supplies for your use (just in case you accidentally forget to catch a sneeze!).
- If you have flu-like symptoms, stay home! We will organise a postponement for you if you cannot attend because you are unwell.
- If you or any member of your group becomes unwell with flu-like symptoms whilst staying at The Steps or in the two weeks after, you must advise us immediately.
- Please follow any instructions given by our team and continue to abide by existing State and Federal COVID-19 restrictions for the wellbeing of all.
